What is the difference between Upcycling and Recycling?

Recycling is what we have traditionally thought of as a process by which we collect waste from consumer products and turn them into raw materials for new production.

We make a distinction for two purposes:

To help people understand the difference between upcycling, and recycling by providing information about each in different content.

To display that Upcycling is generally environmentally friendlier than recycling, and therefore needs more public funding to become as prevalent as recycling.
