How does coolant work and can you reuse old coolant?

Coolant works by lowering the temperature of an engine. Using recycled coolant has been shown to be less reliable than using new coolant, and it’s most likely because industrial growths such as bacteria become more concentrated in the used coolant.

Particles like dirt or rust can also travel along with recycled coolant and contaminate your car engine just as easily.

It’s best not to consider old, used, coolant when you need to replace your radiator fluid or buy some for a project at home.

Replacing old coolants with new ones is best for maintaining a clean engine that functions steadily without issue.
