There are two ways this can be done. One way is to use the wastewater for crop irrigation where there is a proper system for irrigation that results in little run-off and is strict about not using contaminated water, and where the crops receiving the water are suited to consuming such an abundance of solids (such as sugar cane, soybean, and wheat).
The other option is to turn wastewater into soap which can be beneficial for people living on less than $2 a day.
